Finally our split level garden is finished.
And what a difference 3 weeks makes…
partiuclarly when you consider what the garden looked like a few weeks ago…
The raised planter bed is finished in smooth render along with a section of the garden wall behind. Once this is fully dry our client is going to have fun painting this a vibrant colour against which those photinia nanas and ferns will really sing.
The garden is now almost twice the size that is was before and has a sharp contemporary feel which is enhanced by the sharp lines of the beds and the outline of the buff granite paving.
Acer Glob0sums and photinia red robins standards add instant maturity to the garden and create an extra layer of privacy from adjoining houses.
The mature specimen trees and plants provide an instant mature backdrop. The clients will now plant out the main central bed with a mix of seasonal and low maintenance plants – based on a planting list suggested by us.
The garden now has a large patio area for relaxing and entertaining and its all on the one level. In a few years the privet hedging at the end of the garden will have grown to give full privacy from the houses beyond.
The shed has been kept at a lower level to the rest of the garden. Once the plants have grown in front of it it will not be visible from the house or the rest of the garden. It accessed through steps from the end of the garden.
