Whether its necessary to rent out your house or to maximize its potential for sale, it is worth taking advice on how best to spend a small budget to gain most impact. Here are some tips and pointers from our back catalogue.
Quick fit laminate flooring, wooden blinds, a neutral, (not magnolia), colour scheme and an inexpensive rug adds impact straight away. Soft furnishings and inofensive prints lends an impression of homliness.
A low slung sofa and two chairs give the room a contemporary feel and opens up possibilities for potential buyers or tennants.
When showing the room – arrange a plant or a few ornaments on a media unit. Compare the difference between this picture and the one above, where the TV was removed. The lack of a TV is not so obvious and viewers tend not to notice its absence.
In the kitchen dining room we applied the same principle – make it feel lived in. We sourced this table and chair set in a charity shop. More canvas prints brighten up the wall.
Simple white bed linen and attention to detail ensures this master bedroom has an immediate appeal. Lockers and lamps from Argos will not break the bank.
Similar treatment in the second bedroom shows the best use of space available. Taking up carpets and sanding floors where possible will always look cleaner.
