bespoke screening merton design style

September 1st, 2011

Sometimes that area just ouside the back door is the most annoying space. It is generally the one area where you are in closest contact with your neighbours. Lets face it – we all love a bit of privacy.

This section of the garden is directly outside the back doors. Here we felt a wall was too imposing and a fence was frankly – boring.

We have installed these planters and screens in a couple of gardens recently. The effect is a softer yet equally effective visual block against the lower wall to the side.

From indoors the planter and screen needs to look as effective and streamlined to not take over the initial landing spot outside the doors.

Now sitting outside is aestethically pleasing as there is no casual glancing over from next door. This screening allows air and light to get through the gaps but discourages and obstructs peeking!
